Pass Plus in Wimbledon
You passed your test. Now learn the six things it never tested you on — motorways, night driving, rural roads, dual carriageways, all weathers and busy town traffic. Training, not another exam.
The test does not make you a driver
A practical driving test is a short drive, in daylight, in reasonable weather, on roads the examiner picked. It never puts you on a motorway — you are not even allowed on one alone until you have passed. It rarely puts you on an unlit rural bend or in heavy rain at night. Those are exactly the conditions that catch new drivers out in their first year, and no amount of passing first time prepares you for them. Pass Plus is the DVSA scheme built to fill that gap, and the best time to do it is while you are still cautious enough to take it seriously.
What Pass Plus covers
Town driving
Complex junctions, heavy traffic, pedestrians and cyclists — reading a busy urban road properly rather than just surviving it.
All-weather driving
Rain, fog, ice and low winter sun, and how much your stopping distances change in each of them.
Rural roads
Blind bends, hidden dips, unmarked junctions and the speed that country roads quietly encourage.
Night driving
Judging speed and distance in the dark, coping with dazzle, and seeing what you cannot quite see.
Dual carriageways
Joining at speed, lane discipline and overtaking safely where everything happens faster.
Motorways
Slip roads, lane discipline, smart motorways and what to actually do if you break down. The one thing you have never legally driven alone.
